With a longstanding background in high-end corporate films and animation, Matt is equally at home with commercials specialising in automotive and SFX/CGI.
Matt’s plethora of awards says it all. Numerous gold awards in Autovision OttoCAR, World Media Festivals, New York Festivals, ITVA and US International Film and Video Festivals make up just the tip if the iceberg.
Then there are the endless silvers and special awards that spell out Matt’s matchless credentials.
This is a case of viewing his work and asking questions later.
How do you shoot a car that’s not yet been built? A car that’s so secret yet it has to feature in a large metropolitan city? You don’t, you simply shoot the film without the car.
This was Matt’s fifth project with CGI cars set into a photo-real environment. The live action was shot conventionally with a Russian arm and the film edited as an accurate off-line, with all the shots carefully pre-sized, re-sized, staged and planned. It only took a day and a half to shoot the live action in Vancouver, but six weeks to render the cars.
Matt stayed with it throughout. With his extensive background in animation, GCI and car photography, he knows how to push it just that little bit further to achieve absolute perfection.
