How it all began:

In 1980, founder Jo Marsden was given carte blanche to set up and run a film production/animation company for the group which owned Thurman Publishing (Mr Men fame).

From 1982 – 1994 Orchid Productions (a working name we never got around to changing) became the largest independent (commercials) film/animation company outside London. As well as producing hundreds of commercials of every conceivable type, the studio produced 110 x 10 minute episodes of ‘The Raggy Dolls’ and was the pioneer company that set the precedent for independents.More
